As I stood there, sipping on a glass of lime green punch, I watched as Cameron tapped her on the shoulder. And then she turned. My eyes fixed on her’s, and it was like everyone, and everything had disappeared. In that moment I could see all the years that lay ahead; all the promises, the disappointments and the dreams. Suddenly, my world had been compressed, my focus, narrowed; everything was magnified and so brilliant, that it was almost painful to look at her. Like an overexposed snapshot, whose subject has been washed away by the very light that created it, the longer I stared at her, the more unreal and untouchable she seemed.
