Funeral Speech (Eulogy) Poems - Presentation Helper Magazine Forum

This is a very powerful poem W H Auden
From The Twelve Songs

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a a juicy bone,
Silance the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He Is Dead,
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policeman wear black cotton gloves.

He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I though that love would last for ever : I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now : put out ever one;
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood.
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

The Wishing Wealth General Market Index (GMI)

Index This market just makes you want to scream, doesn’t it? Now you know why I stay out of sick markets and sold my MHS days ago. Here is a stock that broke to a new all-time high at the end of March and held up for a few weeks. It seemed like a good “defensive” stock, being in the management of prescription drug programs. So what happened today? It announces quarterly earnings today up 27% but apparently did not boost its profit outlook for the rest of the year. So what does it do? It declines today 9.12%! This is the type of action one gets in a market that is in a downtrend with few stocks successfully holding new high ground.

Aren’t you tired of fighting this market? I think it is time for us to work on a general market index that summarizes the indicators I use to monitor the general market trend. Keep in mind that I am a chicken and have successfully dodged the 98 bear, the 2000-2002 bear and most of the present decline. I put together the Wishing Wealth General Market Index above (click on it to enlarge). It counts the following elements:

1. Wishing Wealth 10 Day Successful New High Index Greater than 100. I follow a “universe” of almost 4,000 actively traded stocks that were $5 or over several months ago. I use TC2005 to count the number of these 4000 stocks that hit a new 52 week high 10 days ago and closed today higher than they closed 10 days ago when they made their highs. In a rising market, traders have the confidence to let strong stocks climb, so they have a successive number of new highs. In a bad market, anxious traders take profits quickly and stocks tend to gyrate. I have only been computing this index since last March, when I had a count of 106. I am suggesting that any number above 100 will be a bullish sign. However, I reserve the right to change this threshold as I gain more experience with it.

2. At least 100 new highs in a day in my 4,000 stock universe. In a good market we should at least have 100 stocks hitting new highs. Furthermore, when a market has more daily new lows than new highs (as the current market does), we really should not be buying growth stocks with the expectation of making a profit. The odds are simply against us.

3. Wishing Wealth Daily QQQQ Index Positive. The QQQQ tracks the 100 largest non-financial stocks in the NASDAQ. I watch the QQQQ to track the tech stocks, and often trade it or its options. This index is positive when my technical indicators suggest that it is in a rising trend. (You don’t really expect me to disclose how I do that, do you? You would never visit me again.)

4. This index is similar to #3 above, but is a daily measure of the SPY, an index that tracks the S&P 500 index. The SPY is another useful way to buy or sell the market and is an excellent indicator of the general market trend.

5. The weekly QQQQ index is the same as #3 above but is based on the weekly trend. A change in trend will occur in the daily indicator before the weekly indicator. In a strong market both the daily and weekly trends will be positive.

6. The IBD Mutual Fund Index comes from the Investor’s Business Daily (IBD) newspaper. A chart of this index appears in the mutual fund section. To be positive, this index must be above its 50 day moving average, shown daily. Update: IBD no longer publishes the 50 day average in the graph in the paper or online edition. IBD subscribers can get the full chart by typing in 0muti in the charting function on the IBD home page. I have found that when these growth mutual funds are rising, then I can expect to successfully buy growth stocks. (Don’t take my word for it. Go back and see how this index relates to your trading success.)

The Wishing Wealth General Market Index just counts the number of these conditions that are positive. The index is 0 today. I will continue to track these indicators daily and publish them on the blog. I hope that they will be as useful to you as they have been to me. With a zero reading, I will not waste our time talking about stocks to buy. A better use of our time would be to discuss stocks to short.

An Economic Rumination: The Curse of the Ground and the Division of Labor

n many ways we have partially overcome the curse of the ground through the modern division of labor, which has been made possible through the embrace of Biblical ethics and the broader Western ethos. For the price of a forty-hour work week, we now have available to us a standard of living comparable to the kings of antiquity. Come to think of it, several of the other curses have been partially overcome as well. I, for one, would much rather give birth today than in the first century, supposing I had to do such a thing.

It seems that this curse of God may have been more than just a punishment. It acts to limit the progress of those who rebel against Him, and the partial restoration of Paradise is a reward to those who choose to respond properly to both His curse and His teachings. The faithful society expands and progresses while the society in rebellion withers and contracts.

The modern division of labor is more than just a modern convenience. It is more than a miracle. It is a moral triumph, possibly the greatest in the history of mankind. To grow rich is glorious, not primarily to those who accumulate the wealth, but to God. It is a testament to the miracle that He has worked in His fallen little creations in spite of every dark influence of the Prince of This World.

Its unraveling will be a tragedy.

Panjandrum: Information from Answers.com

Panjandrum:
The Grand Panjandrum

The prototype was secretly constructed at Leytonstone and transported by night to the testing grounds at Westward Ho!, Devon. However, once there the secrecy surrounding the project broke down, as the beach chosen as a test site was also a popular destination for holidaymakers and from the first test on September 7, 1943 onwards, every trial was witnessed by large citizen audiences despite the DMWD's warnings concerning the safety of the weapon. Since nothing remotely resembling the Panjandrum had ever been constructed before, the trials began with a good degree of trepidation — only a handful of cordite rockets were attached to the wheels, and the payload was simulated by an equivalent weight of sand. When Shute gave the signal, the rockets were ignited and the Panjandrum catapulted itself forward, out of the landing craft used as a launchpad, and a fair distance up the beach before a number of the rockets on the right wheel failed and the weapon careered off course. Several further attempts were made with more and more rockets, but on every occasion the Panjandrum lost control before reaching the end of the beach.

After tinkering with the project for a further three weeks, the Department returned to the beach. Panjandrum was now equipped with over seventy cordite rockets and a stabilising third wheel. When launched, it hurtled towards the coast, skimming the beach before turning back out to sea. A number of the 20 lb (9.1 kg) rockets detached and whipped wildly above the heads of the gathered audience or exploded underwater. Despite these failures, Shute and his team persevered, removing the third wheel and attaching steel cables to the remaining two wheels as a basic form of steering. Panjandrum proved to be too powerful however, snapping the cables and whipping them back across the beach when they were used. More weeks were spent testing every conceivable variable from thicker cables to heavier rocket-clamps without success before the DMWD received notification that the weapon was only required to be consistently able to travel in the general direction of the enemy. With some degree of confidence, a final trial was scheduled to be performed in January, 1944, in front of a number of Navy officials and scientists, as well as an official photographer.

The final test

Panjandrum after an unsuccessful test

The day of the test was described in detail by Brian Johnson, for the BBC documentary Secret War:

"At first all went well. Panjandrum rolled into the sea and began to head for the shore, the Brass Hats watching through binoculars from the top of a pebble ridge [...] Then a clamp gave: first one, then two more rockets broke free: Panjandrum began to lurch ominously. It hit a line of small craters in the sand and began to turn to starboard, careering towards Klemantaski, who, viewing events through a telescopic lens, misjudged the distance and continued filming. Hearing the approaching roar he looked up from his viewfinder to see Panjandrum, shedding live rockets in all directions, heading straight for him. As he ran for his life, he glimpsed the assembled admirals and generals diving for cover behind the pebble ridge into barbed-wire entanglements. Panjandrum was now heading back to the sea but crashed on to the sand where it disintegrated in violent explosions, rockets tearing across the beach at great speed."

Given the results of the trial, it is perhaps not surprising that the project was scrapped almost immediately over safety concerns. However, it has since been claimed that the entire project was a hoax devised as part of Operation Fortitude, to convince the Germans that plans were being developed to attack the heavily fortified defences surrounding the Pas-de-Calais rather than the less-defended Normandy coastline. In particular, the near-complete lack of security surrounding the tests themselves is cited as proof that the Allies wished German spies to know about the project.[citation needed]

An Old Farmer’s Advice

Your fences need to be horse-high, pig-tight and bull-strong.

Keep skunks and bankers at a distance.

Life is simpler when you plow around the stump.

A bumble bee is considerably faster than a John Deere tractor.

Words that soak into your ears are whispered…not yelled.

Meanness don’t jes’ happen overnight.

Forgive your enemies. It messes up their heads.

Do not corner something that you know is meaner than you.

It don’t take a very big person to carry a grudge.

You cannot unsay a cruel word.

Every path has a few puddles.

When you wallow with pigs, expect to get dirty.

The best sermons are lived, not preached.

Most of the stuff people worry about ain’t never gonna happen anyway.

Don’t judge folks by their relatives.

Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.

Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and think back, you’ll enjoy it a second time.

Don’t interfere with somethin’ that ain’t bothering you none.

Timing has a lot to do with the outcome of a rain dance.

If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop diggin’.

Sometimes you get, and sometimes you get got.

The biggest troublemaker you’ll probably ever have to deal with, watches you from the mirror every mornin’.

Always drink upstream from the herd.

Good judgment comes from experience, and a lotta that comes from bad judgment.

Lettin’ the cat outta the bag is a whole lot easier than puttin’ it back in.

If you get to thinkin’ you’re a person of some influence, try orderin’ somebody else’s dog around.

Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply.

My Favorite.

Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God.

hn Charlton: The Supreme Court case which will void the entire Obama presidency…

Nov. 25, 2009) — It is often asked whether the usurpation of the presidency by Barack Hussein Obama will ever have a remedy in the courts. But the fact is that there already is a remedy in the courts: the ruling of the Supreme Court of the United States in Marbury v. Madison, 5 U.S. 1 Cranch 137 137 (1803).

That case was the first to expressly indicate that no action of Congress was valid if it contravened the Constitution. Since the U.S. Constitution requires that a President be a natural born citizen; and since the Supreme Court has in 4 cases used the term “natural born citizen” only in reference to one born in the U.S.A. of parents who were citizens at the time of his birth, it follows inexorably that Obama’s election as president by the Joint Session of Congress, on January 8, 2009, is null and void. Against this legal conclusion there is no argument.

Here is the crucial text of the Supreme Court’s decision in Marbury v. Madison.

The Hippies Who “Certified” Obama ( look at the 2 peole who certified our “president”)

Jess Henig and Joe Miller

I was looking for a photo to add to the left column, when I re-discovered these photos of the two people who “certified” Obama’s eligibility to serve as POTUS.

They are employees of FactCheck.org, an organization that bills itself as “non-partisan,” but is part of the Annenberg network of liberal-left causes and organizations — just like Bill Ayers’ Chicago Annenberg Challenge — Annenberg, and its causes, are way left of center.

As the world now knows, FactCheck.org published a web page entitled, “Born in the U.S.A. — The truth about Obama’s birth certificate.” The entire webpage is ONE BIG LIE!

The counterfeit document FactCheck.org is proffering on this page, and refers to as a birth certificate — 31 times — is not a birth certificate — it’s not even real — it’s a bunch of zeroes and ones on a server database. At least four “qualified” forensic examiners have said it’s bogus. But that didn’t stop FactCheck.org from employing Goebbel’s “Big Lie” technique:

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

And it worked!

Francis W. Porretto - Eternity Road

Here are a few PDOOMAs of recent vintage:

  • Al Gore's claim that, if nothing is done about "global warming," Earth will experience a sea level rise of twenty feet.
  • Marian Wright Edelman's claim that every extra dollar devoted to governmentally funded day care would ultimately save $3.38 in federal and state expenditures.
  • Congressional Democrats claim that $500 billion can be squeezed out of Medicare expenditures over the next ten years by "eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse."
  • Barack Hussein Obama's "47 million Americans can't get health insurance."
  • Barack Hussein Obama's "650,000 jobs created or saved" by the $787 billion stimulus bill.

...and not an error bar in the lot.

The most annoying aspect of these PDOOMAs is how hard it is to get their promulgators to stand their ground and defend it. When challenged, they immediately change the subject, or attack the objector -- and subsequently act as if the PDOOMA went unchallenged, and should be taken as authoritative and trustworthy. But left-liberalism being inherently fraudulent and treacherous, perhaps this is only to be expected.

The proliferation of PDOOMAs on the subject of health care has slowed down somewhat in recent weeks, but there remain a couple that animate the Democrats' drive for the nationalization of American medicine. One is the "47 million uninsured" canard. No responsible analyst would propound such a figure without also stating how he'd arrived at it, what the error bar is, and whether factors other than the politically potent implication of unaffordability play a part in a significant fraction of the total. The last of those is a particularly important question at a time when among America's most important social ills is our problem with illegal immigration.

But no field beats "global warming / climate change" for reliance on the PDOOMA. The whole "discipline" is PDOOMAs from first to last. Global temperature assessment is inherently fraught with major uncertainties. Measurements of global temperature have error bars of several Centigrade degrees. The recent revelations of wholesale distortion and data-dredging at the University of East Anglia Climatic Research Unit, apparently carried on shamelessly by hundreds, if not thousands, of the best known "global warming" flacksters in the world, should be a lesson to us about the probity of "scientific measurements" advanced to serve a political cause. Self-nominated "scientists" are just as capable of deception, including self-deception, as any other human being...especially when vast quantities of money are at stake.

John was in the fertilized egg business.
He had several hundred young layers (hens), called ‘pullets,’ and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs.
He kept records, and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and was replaced.
This… took a lot of time, so he bought some tiny bells and attached them to his roosters.

Each bell had a different tone, so he could tell from a distance, which rooster was performing.
Now, he could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report by just listening to the bells.

John’s favorite rooster, old Butch, was a very fine specimen, but this morning he noticed old Butch’s bell hadn’t rung at all!
When he went to investigate, he saw the other roosters were busy chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing, but the pullets, hearing the roosters coming, could run for cover.

To John’s amazement, old Butch had his bell in his beak, so it couldn’t ring.
He’d sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one.
John was so proud of old Butch, he entered him in the Renfrew County Fair and he became an overnight sensation among the judges.

The result was the judges not only awarded old Butch the No Bell Piece Prize but they also awarded him the Pulletsurprise as well.
Clearly old Butch was a politician in the making.
Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most highly coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the populace and screwing them when they weren’t paying attention.
Vote carefully this year and NEXT,
…..the bells are not always audible.

Anti-Mullah: SPOKEN FOR AN INCREASING MAJORITY OF AMERICANS

Anti-Mullah: SPOKEN FOR AN INCREASING MAJORITY OF AMERICANS

SPOKEN FOR AN INCREASING MAJORITY OF AMERICANS

This venerable and much honored WW II vet is well known in Hawaii for his seventy-plus years of service to patriotic organizations and causes all over the country. A humble man without a political bone in his body, he has never spoken out before about a government official, until now. He dictated this letter to a friend, signed it and mailed it to the president.

Dear President Obama,

My name is Harold Estes, approaching 95 on December 13 of this year. People meeting me for the first time don't believe my age because I remain wrinkle free and pretty much mentally alert.

I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1934 and served proudly before, during and after WW II retiring as a Master Chief Bos'n Mate. Now I live in a "rest home" located on the western end of Pearl Harbor, allowing me to keep alive the memories of 23 years of service to my country.

One of the benefits of my age, perhaps the only one, is to speak my mind, blunt and direct even to the head man.

So here goes.

I am amazed, angry and determined not to see my country die before I do, but you seem hell bent not to grant me that wish.

I can't figure out what country you are the president of.

You fly around the world telling our friends and enemies despicable lies like:

"We're no longer a Christian nation"

"America is arrogant" - (Your wife even announced to the world ,"America is mean- spirited. "Please tell her to try preaching that nonsense to 23 generations of our war dead buried all over the globe who died for no other reason than to free a whole lot of strangers from tyranny and hopelessness.)

I'd say shame on the both of you, but I don't think you like America, nor do I see an ounce of gratefulness in anything you do, for the obvious gifts this country has given you. To be without shame or gratefulness is a dangerous thing for a man sitting in the White House.

After 9/11 you said," America hasn't lived up to her ideals."

Which ones did you mean? Was it the notion of personal liberty that 11,000 farmers and shopkeepers died for to win independence from the British? Or maybe the ideal that no man should be a slave to another man, that 500,000 men died for in the Civil War? I hope you didn't mean the ideal 470,000 fathers, brothers, husbands, and a lot of fellas I knew personally died for in WWII, because we felt real strongly about not letting any nation push us around, because we stand for freedom.

I don't think you mean the ideal that says equality is better than discrimination. You know the one that a whole lot of white people understood when they helped to get you elected.

Take a little advice from a very old geezer, young man.

Shape up and start acting like an American. If you don't, I'll do what I can to see you get shipped out of that fancy rental on Pennsylvania Avenue. You were elected to lead not to bow, apologize and kiss the hands of murderers and corrupt leaders who still treat their people like slaves.

And just who do you think you are telling the American people not to jump to conclusions and condemn that Muslim major who killed 13 of his fellow soldiers and wounded dozens more. You mean you don't want us to do what you did when that white cop used force to subdue that black college professor in Massachusetts, who was putting up a fight? You don't mind offending the police calling them stupid but you don't want us to offend Muslim fanatics by calling them what they are, terrorists.

One more thing. I realize you never served in the military and never had to defend your country with your life, but you're the Commander-in-Chief now, son. Do your job. When your battle-hardened field General asks you for 40,000 more troops to complete the mission, give them to him. But if you're not in this fight to win, then get out. The life of one American soldier is not worth the best political strategy you're thinking of.

You could be our greatest president because you face the greatest challenge ever presented to any president.

You're not going to restore American greatness by bringing back our bloated economy. That's not our greatest threat. Losing the heart and soul of who we are as Americans is our big fight now.

And I sure as hell don't want to think my president is the enemy in this final battle.

Sincerely,

Harold B. Estes

When a 95 year old hero of the "the Greatest Generation" stands up and speaks out like this, I think we owe it to him to send his words to as many Americans as we can. Please pass it on.

The US government has made a commitment to provide financial aid to Afghan provinces that have reduced or eliminated the production of opium. The United States signed a memorandum of understanding on Monday acoording to which it agreed to give $38.7 million to 27 Afghan provinces that eliminated or significantly reduced poppy production in the world’s biggest supplier country, AFP reported.

According to the MOU, the money will be handed over to Afghanistan’s counter-narcotics ministry, which will disperse the cash to the 27 different provinces to finance development or alternative crops. 1) The US & the CIA don’t want to “eliminate” the production of opium. What they want is to cut the production so that the price on CIA’s own heroin will stay high. They must cut the supply of opium somewhat to do this. 2) In Afghanistan, they’re doing this with the US taxpayers’ money and in the end they will harvest the enormous profits themselves, in the West. In short, we’re being lied to and we’re being scammed.

FW Engdahl: The Geopolitics behind the phoney US war in Afghanistan: The US military is in Afghanistan for two reasons. First to restore and control the world’s largest supply of opium for the world heroin markets and to use the drugs as a geopolitical weapon against opponents, especially Russia. That control of the Afghan drug market is essential for the liquidity of the bankrupt and corrupt Wall Street financial mafia.

No?

Bottom line. We’ve spent several hundred billion dollars in support of

It was very simple...and at the time, everybody thought it very appropriate.

The Department of Energy was instituted on 8-04-1977.
TO LESSEN OUR DEPENDENCE ON FOREIGN OIL. Hey, pretty efficient, huh???

AND NOW IT’S 2009—32 YEARS LATER—AND THE BUDGET FOR THIS “NECESSARY” DEPARTMENT IS AT $24.2 BILLION A YEAR. THEY HAVE 16,000 FEDERAL EMPLOYEES AND APPROXIMATELY 100,000 CONTRACT EMPLOYEES; AND LOOK AT THE JOB THEY HAVE DONE! THIS IS WHERE YOU SLAP YOUR FOREHEAD AND SAY, “WHAT WAS I THINKING?”

Buy Silver or Gold? by Gary North

Buy Silver or Gold? by Gary North: "The best way to buy silver is to buy 90% silver coins: pre-1964. Take delivery. The sack of coins weighs over 56 pounds. Get them divided into two bags. I recommend dimes: more transactions per bag. But it doesn’t matter that much unless there is a complete monetary breakdown.

Gold coins are far more versatile. That is because they are worth more per unit of weight and volume. They are easier to hide. They are easier to move across a border."

Buy Silver or Gold? by Gary North

Buy Silver or Gold? by Gary North

etc etc
witchblade knife of Damocles.

The central banks now face a major problem. If gold’s price gets too high, the private bullion banks will be trapped. They owe gold to central banks, but they cannot afford to buy gold in the private markets in order to repay it to the central banks. If they are ever asked to repay, they will go bankrupt.

The central banks therefore will face exposure as being in collusion with a bunch of profit-seeking Enrons: busted and owing the government’s gold to the central banks. My guess is that central bankers knew from the beginning that they would never see this gold again. They just wanted a cover: "leasing" rather than "sales" of the government’s gold.

The downward pressure on gold is today no longer so great as it was a decade ago. The threat is reduced because the vaults are less full.

No central bank holds silver as a monetary reserve. No central bank is committed to buying or selling silver for public perception reasons. Silver has been de-monetized. It is no longer on the political radar. So, silver is closer to a true free market commodity. It is therefore more subject to the ups and downs of the business cycle.

You can make more money in silver when the market rises: no overhang of leased silver in central ban vaults. You can also lose more money when silver falls, along with the economy: no central bank buying of silver. etc etc

Lame Cherry: The Ugly Obamacan

Lame Cherry: The Ugly Obamacan

Just listen to the things Obama has come up with in his Afnamistan as reported by the Washington Times.

Rule 1: American Soldiers can not surprise terrorists with searches. The same terrorists in Obama's Afnamistan can not have their sleep disturbed, so there will be no night searches.
Warfare therefore according to Obama can only take place during the daylight hours.

Rule 2: When terrorists are going to be searched, the terrorists in Obama's friends in al Qaeda and the TalEEban must first be warned by an appropriate amount of time so as not to inconvenience the terrorists.

Rule 3: United States Soldiers can not conduct any military actual warfare searches against terrorists unless they are escorted and chaperoned by Afghanistan Army or Afghanistan Police forces, so as not to offend the fraudulent government of Afnamistan or the terrorists.

Rule 4: United States Soldiers must wait with weapons dropped in an nonthreatening position until terrorists are given the first live burst of shots at US Soldiers.

Rule 5: When terrorists are using human hostages as shields, hiding in villages or running into camps to avoid being killed by United States Soldiers, United States Soldiers can not return fire nor engage the terrorists when Afghanistan civilians are present.
United States Soldiers must first evacuate the local population in daylight before engaging the terrorists.

Rule 6: Only female United States Soldiers, who are not allowed in actual combat situations can search female terrorists.

Rule 7: United States Soldiers can only fire at terrorists while placing mines, IED's etc... to murder United States Soldiers. If the terrorists have already laid the IED's, they can not be fired upon as they leave the area.......

According to that rule, US Soldiers seeing armed terrorists must approach them with weapons dropped, notify them in a friendly manner they are under arrest, wait to be shot and take casualties first, and only then can they return fire, allow in their bomb explosive experts to be blown up trying to defuse the IED, and send home more dead US Soldiers.

How many of us are part of the silent majority? This is by far the best explanation of the Muslim terrorist situation I have read. His references to past history are accurate and clear. Not long, easy to understand, and well worth the read. The author of this email is Dr. Emanuel Tanay, a well-known and well-respected psychiatrist. A man, whose family was German aristocracy prior to World War II, owned a number of large industries and estates. When asked how many German people were true Nazis, the answer he gave can guide our attitude toward fanaticism. ‘Very few people were true Nazis,’ he said, ‘but many enjoyed the return of German pride, and many more were too busy to care. I was one of those who just thought the Nazis were a bunch of fools. So, the majority just sat back and let it all happen. Then, before we knew it, they owned us, and we had lost control, and the end of the world had come. My family lost everything. I ended up in a concentration camp and the Allies destroyed my factories.’ We are told again and again by ‘experts’ and ‘talking heads’ that Islam is the religion of peace and that the vast majority of Muslims just want to live in peace. Although this unqualified assertion may be true, it is entirely irrelevant. It is meaningless fluff, meant to make us feel better, and meant to somehow diminish the spectra of fanatics rampaging across the globe in the name of Islam. The fact is that the fanatics rule Islam at this moment in history. It is the fanatics who march. It is the fanatics who wage any one of 50 shooting wars worldwide. It is the fanatics who systematically slaughter Christian or tribal groups throughout Africa and are gradually taking over the entire continent in an Islamic wave. It is the fanatics who bomb, behead, murder, or honor-kill It is the fanatics who take over mosque after mosque. It is the fanatics who zealously spread the stoning and hanging of rape victims and s. It is the fanatics who teach their young to kill and to become suicide bombers. The hard, quantifiable fact is that the peaceful majority, the ’silent majority,’ is cowed and extraneous. Communist Russia was comprised of Russians who just wanted to live in peace, yet the Russian Communists were responsible for the murder of about 20 million people. The peaceful majority were irrelevant. China’s huge population was peaceful as well, but Chinese Communists managed to kill a staggering 70 million people. The average Japanese individual prior to World War II was not a warmongering sadist. Yet, Japan murdered and slaughtered its way across South East Asia in an orgy of killing that included the systematic murder of 12 million Chinese civilians; most killed by sword, shovel, and bayonet. And who can forget Rwanda, which collapsed into butchery. Could it not be said that the majority of Rwandans were ‘peace loving’? History lessons are often incredibly simple and blunt, yet for all our powers of reason, we often miss the most basic and uncomplicated of points: Peace-loving Muslims have been made irrelevant by their silence. Peace-loving Muslims will become our enemy if they don’t speak up, because like my friend from Germany, they will awaken one day and find that the fanatics own them, and the end of their world will have begun. Peace-loving Germans, Japanese, Chinese, Russians, Rwandans, Serbs, Afghans, Iraqis, Palestinians, Somalis, Nigerians, Algerians, and many others have died because the peaceful majority did not speak up until it was too late. As for us who watch it all unfold, we must pay attention to the only group that counts–the fanatics who threaten our way of life. Lastly, anyone who doubts that the issue is serious and just deletes this email without sending it on, is contributing to the passiveness that allows the problems to expand. So, extend yourself a bit and send this on and on and on! Let us hope that thousands, world wide, read this and think about it, and send it on – before it’s too late.

Emanuel Tanay, M.D.

Home on the Range: When it Gets Close to Home

Home on the Range: When it Gets Close to Home

I have a small pistol with me whenever I'm home. Either next to me by the computer, or in my holster if I'm in the shop or the yard where someone could approach me, there under my t shirt or denim jacket. Out and about I carry heavier caliber, but at home, just puttering around, I always felt comfortable with just a "pocket pistol" or something slightly bigger in a .380.

Then a few days ago someone kicked in my back door. In broad daylight. I had only minutes before gone out the front door to walk down and get the mail before driving off to the office. Barkley was napping in one of the front bedrooms where he can watch me as I get the mail and then leave (oh, did someone send us milk bones??) So I was already out the drive and on my way when it happened. Apparently Barkley scared them off, he likely rushing barking towards the back of the house when he heard the noise. The phone was ripped out of the wall and a coffee table was tipped over. (Probably as they crapped their drawers trying to get away from upset 100 pound black haired dog with big teeth.)

Expert Pediatrician Exposes Vaccine Myths

Expert Pediatrician Exposes Vaccine Myths

The Concept of Herd Immunity – BUSTED!

One of the primary arguments that is being used to justify this insane behavior is “herd immunity.”

The fact is that vaccination does NOT stop you from carrying bacteria or viruses in your nose, in your throat, in your intestines, in your airway, on your skin, or in your body.

But many do not understand the significance of this fact, and have been made to believe that if you’re vaccinated, you won’t carry viruses, and therefore, others will be protected because you’re vaccinated.

As it turns out, this belief is NOT based on scientific fact.

Dr. Palevsky explains:

“This whole concept of herd immunity is very interesting, because we were taught that herd immunity occurs because a certain percentage of a population gets an active illness. Therefore by a certain percentage of getting the active illness, they impart a protection onto the remaining part of the population that has not gotten the illness yet.

And so the herd that is getting the illness is shedding the illness and protecting those who have not gotten it.

In vaccine science, we are extrapolating or concluding that if we vaccinate a certain percentage of people, we are imparting protection on those who have not been vaccinated. And that has NOT been shown to be true, because the true herd immunity in theory is based on an ACTIVE DISEASE, and we know that despite what we’re taught, vaccination does not mimic the natural disease.

So we cannot use the same model of herd immunity in a natural disease in the vaccination policy. But unfortunately, we do use it even though it cannot be used because it doesn’t have scientific backing.

What’s most interesting to me is that the entire concept of herd immunity fails to acknowledge that there is a life cycle of the viruses and the bacteria all on their own, and that what turns them on and off may have nothing to do with the percentage of people who have been infected.

All you have to do is look at the SARS outbreak. That virus that we were supposed to fear didn’t infect 70 or 80 percent of the population, which would then impart herd immunity on the 20 or 30 percent that didn’t get the disease.

This is because the virus itself had a life cycle of its own. And so it came and went without any percentage of the population being protected. There wasn’t herd immunity, and yet the virus died out on its own.

We fail to include that viruses have a life cycle, and that they are in relationship to other organisms and to us. Something activates them and something actually stops them, and it has nothing necessarily to do with the percentage of people who would have the illness or who have been vaccinated.

… It is preposterous to think that a child who is vaccinated no longer carries the bacteria or the viruses that they have been vaccinated against. If, in fact, children are vaccinated, then why are parents and public health authorities afraid that non-vaccinated children are somehow carrying something that their children are not, when they should feel comfortable that their children are vaccinated?

You can’t have it both ways.

You can’t vaccinate believing that your children are protected and then feel that your children are not protected because somehow, some non-vaccinated child is carrying some secret organism that no one else is carrying.

It just doesn’t make any sense.”

Expert Pediatrician Exposes Vaccine Myths

Expert Pediatrician Exposes Vaccine Myths

What most people don’t know is that a virus is not “alive,” per se.

It is simply a piece or strand of either RNA or DNA. And even of itself, a virus can’t “do” anything.

In addition it is so tiny that it can only be seen under an electron microscope. It is much smaller than bacteria, which can only be seen in the regular microscope. So viruses cannot be isolated when you make a viral vaccine. All that can be isolated is the tissue, whether it’s human tissue or animal tissue that is believed to have been infected by that specific virus that you’re trying to isolate.

So when a viral culture or a set of cultures are made including the specific virus, you’re going to have the DNA of people or animals who were already infected. Those cells are then taken and grown on animal cells, whether it's monkey kidney cells or chicken embryo cells.

When mixed together, these cells will splice and recombine, which means that DNA from animal cells are going to mix with DNA from the known infected cells with the virus.

So by definition, a viral vaccine contains foreign animal and, even possibly, foreign human DNA. That’s why if you have an egg allergy, you shouldn’t get certain vaccines because it is known that there’s going to be egg protein in the vaccine.

So the question is, how safe is it to inject viral material that is embedded into the DNA of foreign DNA cells?

What studies have been done to actually test whether foreign DNA is getting into your body; whether it stays in your DNA; whether it gets into your brain; and whether there are foreign animal viruses that are inherently present in animal DNA to begin with?

The Dangers of Adjuvants

Adjuvants are used in vaccines in order to create a sufficiently strong immunological response. Adjuvants augment your immunological response.

But there is clear evidence that adjuvants, like aluminum and squalene impair your immune system.

So while you may be getting the antibodies desired, you are, at the same time, damaging your immune system. Particularly in children, this can set them up to develop chronic illness.

180 Degree Health - Heart Disease and Cholesterol

180 Degree Health - Heart Disease and Cholesterol: "Cholesterol levels are a pitiful indicator of heart disease risk to the point where they are really no indication at all. Mean serum cholesterol levels in France for example are almost identical to that of Americans, yet their heart disease risk is but a fifth of what America endures. This is just one of literally dozens of striking contradictions."

Since cholesterol levels couldn’t predict much of anything, it was subdivided into two categories of cholesterol types, HDL cholesterol and LDL cholesterol. Now, we were told, there is good cholesterol and bad cholesterol. Getting a reading on your total cholesterol profile is just now becoming a common practice, and guess what? It’s already ancient history too.

Now we know that there are other subcategories of cholesterol that refine risk even further. There is pattern a and pattern b LDL, “bad” cholesterol. That’s right, there is bad, bad cholesterol, and good, bad cholesterol. Oh brother. Turns out our war on bad cholesterol was rife with friendly fire, destroying yet another type of cholesterol that supposedly protects us from heart disease.

Shale Gas Blasts Open World Energy Market

From UK Times

A stretch of coastline on the Texas-Louisiana border provides a startling glimpse of Europe’s energy future. There, where Lake Sabine empties into the Gulf of Mexico, a giant port was completed last year. Built at a cost of $1.5 billion (£900m), it was meant to be a vital new part of America’s energy infrastructure.

Giant tankers from places such as Qatar and Sakhalin island in Russia’s far east were meant to dock there to inject their cargoes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) straight into the national pipeline network.

The Sabine Pass terminal was meant to take about one ship a day but since it opened for business 18 months ago only 10 ships have come in.

“This big shiny new terminal was one of the ones built as the answer to declining US gas production and increasing demand,” said Steve Johnson president of Waterborne Energy, a Texas energy consultancy. “Now it’s in mothballs.”

It is much the same story at America’s eight other LNG import terminals. They are running at only 10% of capacity.

“We have had so much new production come on stream that all of a sudden the role of these terminals has changed dramatically,” said Johnson. “They are getting the world’s leftovers.”

The reason is shale gas — a new and abundant source of natural gas, trapped in rock formations. Oil companies have known about it for decades but always dismissed it because it was too expensive and difficult to extract. In the past few years new technologies that pump water underground to fracture the rock and free the gas have been perfected. The breakthrough has opened a new frontier for the energy industry and turned long-held assumptions about the world’s dwindling supplies on their head.

Suddenly, America is awash with gas. Tony Hayward, chief executive of BP, said it had created a “a revolution in the gas fields of North America”. In a report this summer, the US potential gas committee increased its estimates of American reserves by a third. The Department of Energy now predicts that shale gas could meet half America’s demand within two decades and turn the country into a net exporter.

When the White House wants your opinion, they'll give it to you

The White House is letting it be known to Democrat political strategists and consultants that if they ever want to work in Washington again they'd better not be seen anywhere near a FoxNews Channel reporter or camera, so says Tom Elia.

One Democratic strategist said that shortly after an appearance on Fox he got a phone call from a White House official telling him not to be a guest on the show again. The call had an intimidating tone, he said.

The message was, "We better not see you on again,'' said the strategist, who spoke on condition of anonymity so as not to run afoul of the White House. An implicit suggestion, he said, was that "clients might stop using you if you continue.'
Hope and Change!

Oh, BTW, for next year's mid-term elections, "Hope and Change" is out. "Wing and a Prayer" is in.

Update: Tom Elia's source was a piece in the Chicago Tribune. But the White House is saying that the story is false.

America Take Can Pride In This Historic, Inspirational Disaster

[ed. note: for what it's worth, a rerun of a post that appeared here one year ago today.]

Although I have not always been the most outspoken advocate of President-Elect Barack Obama, today I would like to congratulate him and add my voice to the millions of fellow citizens who are celebrating his historic and frightening election victory. I don't care whether you are a conservative or a liberal -- when you saw this inspiring young African-American rise to our nation's highest office I hope you felt the same sense of patriotic pride that I experienced, no matter how hard you were hyperventilating with deep existential dread.

Yes, I know there are probably other African-Americans much better qualified and prepared for the presidency. Much, much better qualified. Hundreds, easily, if not thousands, and without any troubling ties to radical lunatics and Chicago mobsters. Gary Coleman comes to mind. etc etc

THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF
A VERY SPECIAL COMPANION.

Marc Miller sent this yesterday ...

I, your ever-faithful companion because of my burden of my illness upon me, I realize the end of my life is near, so I hereby leave you my words for my Last Will and Testament. I have little to give you in a material way. So many of your human companions strive for material gain. You know how this divides families at the end. There is nothing that I have to bequeath except my love and faith. These I leave to all those who have loved me.

I ask for my owners to remember me always; but not to grieve for me too long. All my life I have tried to be a comfort to them in sorrow and in indeed joy in their life’s happiness. It is very painful for me to think that even in death, I am causing them pain.

Let them know that I have had a wonderful life but now I am growing ill and have much pain. I should not want my pride to sink to humiliation. It is time for me to say “Goodbye.” It will be very sorrowful to leave you but; not a sorrow for me to die. Animals do not fear death as humans do. We accept this as part of our lives. What will become of me after death? I will be in a place where I will always be young. A place that will be a paradise for me. Some people call that “Heaven” Yes, animals have souls. God has a special place in heaven just for us.

I have another request. Please find another animal to be at your side. I know no one can take my place, but I will feel better knowing you are taking special care of another pet. I will leave that pet my leash, or my collar. My favorite pillow, or the special place in the car. It would be a poor tribute to me, if no one ever followed me.

One last word of farewell dear ones…Whenever you think of me say to yourself that I was the one you loved; and how much you loved me. No matter how deep my sleep, I shall hear you and not all the power of death can keep my spirit from wagging a grateful tail. May the angels always watch over you as they watch over me. Remember…I will always be with you in love.

Dare Not Be Silent

November 3, 2009

We are to praise our country when it does right. We are to preach to our country when it does wrong. God’s people dare not be silent.

Let me be very frank with you about politics and Christian involvement. Christians should not identify the Christian faith with Democrats or Republicans. We need to be free to tell both parties to repent and get right with God.

Christians will be civil, but we will not be silent. Nathan warned David. Elijah preached to Ahab. Eleazer warned Jehosophat. Daniel preached to Nebuchadnezzar. Moses warned Pharaoh. John the Baptist preached to Herod.

We must declare to any government under which we live: Whatever is morally wrong is not politically right. And as long as I am talking on this subject, let me add that as long as abortionists kill babies and doctors practice infanticide I will not be silent.
